Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) is an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. Her early Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working with prominent directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal actors into the very first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first big character. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character of Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
